Samm Wilkinson is honored and excited to join the staff of Richmond Shakespeare as Patron Services Manager.
After a childhood spent both on stage and backstage, Samm earned a BA in Theatre Education from Longwood University. Following graduation, she worked backstage in run crew and stage management across the country before earning her M. Ed from the University of Cincinnati. In 2011, she moved back to her hometown of Richmond to teach sixth grade English and Social Studies. Currently, she works as an Instructional Designer, supporting middle school teachers.
Samm has built an eclectic career around the belief that sharing stories is vital to fostering empathy, building community, and inspiring social change. In recent years, she has stayed active in Richmond’s theatre scene through bartending and ushering at theatres throughout the city. Though she never expected to make the leap from backstage to front of house, she has always embraced unexpected opportunities to see where they might lead. She is thrilled to bring her experience, enthusiasm, and love of theatre to the Richmond Shakespeare team for this new adventure!
